Regadenoson cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial perfusion imaging predicts need for future revascularization

چکیده
Background Regadenoson (Lexiscan; Astellas) is a new vasodilator myocardial stress agent that selectively activates the A2A receptor. Unlike adenosine, regadenoson is easier to administer and results in fewer side effects. Although extensively studied in patients undergoing nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), its performance in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) MPI remains unknown. The aim of this study was to assess the safety and tolerability of regadenoson and determine its ability to produce hyperemia and predict subsequent coronary revascularization in patients undergoing CMR-MPI.

Prognostic value of normal regadenoson stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance
BACKGROUND Regadenoson is a vasodilator stress agent that selectively activates the A2A receptor. Compared to adenosine, regadenoson is easier to administer and results in fewer side effects. Although extensively studied in patients undergoing nuclear perfusion imaging (MPI), its use for perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is not well described. The aim of this study was to determ...
متن کاملConsiderations when measuring myocardial perfusion reserve by cardiovascular magnetic resonance using regadenoson
BACKGROUND Adenosine cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can accurately quantify myocardial perfusion reserve. While regadenoson is increasingly employed due to ease of use, imaging protocols have not been standardized. We sought to determine the optimal regadenoson CMR protocol for quantifying myocardial perfusion reserve index (MPRi) - more specifically, whether regadenoson stress imaging...
متن کاملPeri-infarct ischemia determined by cardiovascular magnetic resonance evaluation of myocardial viability and stress perfusion predicts future cardiovascular events in patients with severe ischemic cardiomyopathy.
BACKGROUND We assessed whether cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) of peri-infarct ischemia provides prognostic information in severe ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) patients referred for revascularization. METHODS Twenty-one patients with severe ICM were recruited prospectively for combined stress adenosine perfusion, late gadolinium enhancement, and rest perfusion studies. The pat...
متن کاملVasodilator stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging in post-orthotopic heart transplant recipients: evaluation of safety, hemodynamics, and myocardial perfusion
Background Long-term survival after orthotopic heart transplant (OHT) is limited by coronary allograft vasculopathy and its associated myocardial perfusion abnormalities. Little is known how post-OHT patients respond to vasodilator stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (vsCMR). This study aimed (1) to evaluate the safety and hemodynamic response of post-OHT patients undergoing vsCMR ...
متن کاملAssessment of global myocardial perfusion reserve using cardiovascular magnetic resonance of coronary sinus flow at 3 Tesla
BACKGROUND Despite increasing clinical use, there is limited data regarding regadenoson in stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). In particular, given its long half-life the optimal stress protocol remains unclear. Although Myocardial Perfusion Reserve (MPR) may provide additive prognostic information, current techniques for its measurement are cumbersome and challenging for ...
